About Anne
Finding out what’s possible.
I’m Anne Haug, a former professional triathlete and graduate sports scientist. If someone had told me at 19 that I would one day compete at two Olympic Games and become Ironman World Champion, I probably wouldn’t have believed it myself.
I didn’t come to triathlon as an exceptional talent. In fact, I couldn’t really swim at all – so I taught myself at 19. I was driven by a big dream and the curiosity to find out how far I could go if I was willing to learn, work with discipline, take defeats in my stride and keep looking for better solutions.
That curiosity has stayed with me to this day, along with the realisation that most limits exist only in the mind.
01 — My journey
It’s not what you start with that counts. It’s what you make of it.
More than 20 years of elite sport have shown me that development rarely follows a straight line. My career was made up not only of successes but also of numerous setbacks and many moments when things didn’t go to plan. It was these very experiences that left a lasting mark on me and made me stronger.
Along the way, I learned that performance never comes down to a single factor. Training, physiology, technique, recovery, mental strength and your personal environment all interact. And above all: what works for one athlete is far from guaranteed to be the right solution for the next.

02 — The science behind it
How does data become performance?
That question has been with me throughout my entire career and was also the reason I studied sports science at the Technical University of Munich.
Today, I combine this scientific background with the experience of more than two decades of high-performance sport. I know how valuable performance testing and data can be for guiding training with precision and making better decisions. At the same time, as an athlete I learned that numbers alone don’t explain everything. What matters is interpreting them correctly – and combining them with experience and a feel for your own body in training and racing.

03 — Today
Sharing knowledge. Passing on experience.
With Anne Haug Performance, I want to pass on exactly that experience.
I want to help athletes better understand what they are capable of: their physiology, their strengths, their potential for development – but also the factors that may be holding them back. Through performance testing, technique training, camps and personal contact, I combine measurement data and sports science with practical experience.
In all this, performance level doesn’t matter to me. What interests me is the person behind it and the question: what is possible for you – and what can you do to get closer to that potential?
Find out what you’re capable of
I don’t believe that exceptional performance is reserved for exceptional people. Development comes from curiosity, good decisions, consistent work and the willingness to keep going, even after setbacks.
Not everyone wants to become a world champion – and that doesn’t have to be the goal. But everyone can try to find out what is possible for them personally.
That’s exactly what I want to help with.
